Project Overview

In 2025, the voice alarm and public address system at the Munich branch of TRETTER-Schuhe underwent a comprehensive modernization. The goal of the project was to create a reliable and flexible solution that provides clear and intelligible announcements during daily operations as well as in emergencies, thereby enhancing safety for both visitors and staff.

Located centrally on Neuhauser Straße, the store is one of the largest shoe retailers in Bavaria. Due to multiple sales floors and high foot traffic, a powerful system was required to cover all sales areas reliably while ensuring easy operation.

As the system supplier, Gräf & Meyer GmbH provided the new voice alarm and public address solution. Installation and commissioning on-site were carried out by our partner PHOENIX Professional Audio, ensuring precise integration into the existing building structure.

With the new system, staff can reliably manage both routine announcements and emergency alerts. Optimized speech intelligibility ensures that critical information is transmitted quickly and clearly.

The result is a modern and reliable safety and communication solution that meets the demands of a high-traffic retail location while offering staff user-friendly operation.

System Technology Used

As part of the modernization, the existing system was completely dismantled and replaced with a new voice alarm and public address system based on the LDA ONE platform. The system components used are certified to EN 54‑16 and EN 54‑4 and combine amplification, a digital audio matrix, and energy/battery management in a compact system.

The system enables control of multiple 100‑V public address zones, allowing announcements to be made selectively in individual areas or throughout the entire building. An integrated digital audio matrix provides flexible signal distribution and prioritization of different audio sources.

 

Additionally, the system features priority inputs for announcements, an integrated emergency message storage for automatic alarm notifications, and continuous monitoring of loudspeaker lines.

For operation, a microphone station with an expansion keypad was installed, allowing staff to select specific public address zones and make announcements. In addition, an emergency control panel enables manual activation of alarm messages and the management of evacuation functions.
